Dinner
Dinner
Dinner is at the heart of any stay at Roundwood House.
Each evening, guests gather in the dining room for a four-course dinner prepared by Paddy and Blanka.
Menus change daily and are shaped by the seasons, the best ingredients from trusted suppliers and the dietary requirements and preferences of the guests sitting around the table.
A great deal of thought and preparation goes into every evening’s menu. We ask guests to let us know of any allergies, dietary requirements or strong dislikes before arrival so that everyone can relax and enjoy dinner knowing they are well looked after.
Dinner is served at 7.30pm and the pace of the evening is deliberately unhurried. Guests gather for a drink beforehand, candles are lit and conversation flows as the dining room comes to life.
Communal dining is an important part of the Roundwood experience and something many guests tell us becomes a highlight of their stay.
Sharing a table with fellow travellers often leads to lively conversation, new friendships and evenings filled with laughter.
However, if you would prefer a private table, simply let us know and we will be happy to accommodate you.
Dinner is €75 per person and should be booked in advance.

Dining Space
Paddy and his talented kitchen team make use of locally produced and sourced ingredients wherever possible when creating dishes for our dinner menu. We buy meat from our local butcher, Mick, and smoked fish from Goatsbridge Farm in Kilkenny. Our eggs are laid by our hens and ducks here at Roundwood House, and we bake our own bread and cakes here too.
Dinner is not included in the main bed and breakfast service, but can be booked in advance for a culinary experience to remember. You will be served by candlelight in the gorgeous dining room at Roundwood House. This exquisite space is full of carefully preserved architectural details and Georgian style furnishings and fittings. History and heritage meet the finest in modern cuisine in this intimate, warm setting that offers the perfect end to a day in County Laois.
