Terms and Conditions

The terms and conditions set out below apply to all bookings made through this website for Roundwood House. There are specific terms and conditions for vouchers further down this page.

Rates & Pricing

All prices shown are per room per night with breakfast included). Prices include taxes at the current rate.

Any alternative currency rates are indicative only, are based on current exchange rates and are subject to fluctuation.

Prices are subject to change without notice. Your price is guaranteed once you receive a booking confirmation. For the avoidance of doubt, prices do not include any incidental charges which you may incur during your stay (including, for example, drinks, children’s meals or other items).

Such charges will be payable by you on departure. In the event that you fail to pay any incidental charges, it is a condition of your contract with us that you irrevocably authorise us to debit your credit or debit card for the amount due (see Deposits and Pre-payments below).

Prices shown online are not valid in conjunction with any other offer and until you have received your confirmation number.

Special offers and certain periods may be subject to minimum stay requirements.

Availability

Availability of rooms at the rates shown online may be limited and/or restricted to certain periods.

Children

Children in cots can stay free of charge (meals charged separately) when sharing a room with at least one paying adults, subject to availability of suitable rooms.

Youngsters of age 12 and under in beds are charged €30 per child, per night for bed & breakfast. Meals are charged at children’s menu prices. Availability of suitable rooms is limited and portable beds may need to be used where such accommodation is sought.

Pets (Dogs)

There is a €20 fee per stay when bringing a dog. Dogs are only permitted in the cottages.

Guests with Impaired Mobility

Roundwood House does not have specialist accessibility facilities. If you have mobility issues, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you in a first-floor room if available.

Car Parking

Free onsite car parking is available for all guests. One charging point is available for guests’ use.

Arrival and Departure

Rooms are available from 3pm on the day of arrival. Rooms must be vacated by 12 noon on the day of departure unless otherwise agreed.

Credit Card Policy & Payments

A valid credit card must be presented at time of booking, in the same name as the reservation.

On arrival, a pre-authorisation may be taken on your card. We accept all major credit cards, including MasterCard, Visa and American Express.

Cancellations and Amendments

Check-in is available any time after 3pm on the day of arrival. Check-out is by 12 noon on the day of departure.

The reservation is guaranteed for late arrival. Should you need to cancel your reservation, please do so at least 24 hours prior to the day of arrival to avoid a cancellation charge of one night’s accommodation. In the case of a non-arrival, a charge of one night’s accommodation will be made.

To cancel your booking, please email Roundwood House directly quoting the booking reference number issued with your confirmation, or call us on +353 57 873 2120.

Whilst every effort is made to fulfil particular requests in relation to your stay, we cannot guarantee that such requests will be met. Our inability to do so will not constitute a breach of contract.

In the unlikely event that we have to change or cancel your reservation; we reserve the right to do so. However, you have the right to:

• accept the changed arrangements as notified; or

• make alternative arrangements with us; or

• cancel your reservation (please note that we shall not be liable for any sums paid to any other persons in connection with your reservation).

For the avoidance of doubt, we shall have no further liability to you for any changes to or the cancellation of any booking.

Voucher Terms and Conditions

Roundwood House gift vouchers are valid for 60 months (5 years) from the date of issue.

• Vouchers are non-transferable and non-refundable.

• Vouchers may be redeemed against accommodation, drinks and dining.

• Vouchers cannot be used for deposits.

No Smoking Policy

We operate a strictly no smoking policy. Smoking is prohibited within the house, guest accommodation and the cottages.

Complaints or Comments

We take guest satisfaction very seriously.

Any complaint or comment regarding a stay at Roundwood House should be made in the first instance to the proprietor(s) at the time of your stay, so that we can attempt to resolve it immediately.

Problems that cannot be resolved at the time should be notified to us in writing at our address: Roundwood House, Mountrath, Co. Laois, R32 TK79, Ireland.

General Information

Although every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the information contained online, Roundwood House cannot accept responsibility for any errors or omissions.

Roundwood House reserves the right to vary, amend, supplement or cancel any of the information or offers featured online at any time.

Subject to the paragraph immediately below, we shall not be liable to you for any loss or damage in circumstances where:

1. there is no breach of a legal duty owed to you by us or by our employees or agents;

2. such loss or damage is not a reasonably foreseeable result of any such breach;

3. any increase in loss or damage results from breach by you of any term of our contract;

4. any loss is more than the fee payable in respect of your stay.

These terms and conditions shall be governed by Irish law and the Irish courts shall have jurisdiction over any matter arising out of or in connection with them.
