Sunday to Thursday Two Night Midweek Special
There is an air of contentment from the moment you arrive. The dog is comatose and unable to open an eye or notice our arrival, cats snooze in the sun, hens scratch in the grass, and you can hear someone singing and playing the guitar in the distance. Hannah and Paddy are the ideal hosts, the rooms are comfortable and warm and the food is lovely. Paddy not only cooks but will entertain you afterwards and is very talented in both fields. This is about as far removed from a hotel as you could get; it is like staying in a friend's house.

Explore...
For those who decide to venture off the property, there is wonderful exploring to be done within easy driving distance. Reconnect with nature in the peaceful Slieve Bloom Mountains where you will find a great choice of walking trails from 3 to 75 km. For the more adventurous of you, there are excellent purpose-built mountain bike trails. Enjoy challenging climbs up to peaks with panoramic views of the Irish midlands, before heading down into deep valleys and beautiful forests in twisty single lane fast descents.
Horse riding, fishing and golf are also available locally, as well as many wonderful heritage sites that Hannah will be happy to point you in the direction of. See our Things to Do page for some recommended half and full day trips.
Roundwood is special. It’s structure is perfectly manicured to bend and twist to the pressures of this world, but not to break. From what I have seen, the structure of the family that runs Roundwood is similarly sturdy. So all of these current issues (Coronavirus) will make for good stories down the road, and some endearing chips in the paint.
