Bed and Breakfast

Down an avenue roofed with trees and dappled with sunshine lies Roundwood House, an eye-pleasing Georgian House dating from the 18th century. This Palladian villa is gorgeous inside, with high ceilings, great windows, authentic period pieces and architecture. The floorboards are like the deck of a galleon: ancient, well-trodden but comforting. A “don’t touch” museum it is not. It’s a guest house and restaurant, and while the house is old the vibe is young. Its owners, Hannah and Paddy Flynn, have taken over the running of the house from Hannah’s parents, who ran it for almost three decades. The atmosphere is relaxed, laid-back and mellow...

Home from Home...

If you’re looking for an Irish Country House experience, where life moves at a slower pace, and memories of the nine to five can be easily erased, you have come to the right place.

When you stay in Roundwood you don’t feel like you’re staying in a hotel, but rather in a 300 year old house with beautiful architectural features, large sash windows, bright heritage colours, open fires and more books than you could read in a lifetime. Throw in some fresh country air, excellent food and wine, as well as music courtesy of the Roundwood Singing Chefs and you will depart feeling relaxed, refreshed and ready to take on the world again.

Step Back in Time...

Roundwood House has ten bedrooms, six in the Main House and four in the Yellow House. Rooms in the Main House are spacious and full of character. They retain their original architectural features and all have gracious views of the gardens or stable yard.

The four bedrooms in the Yellow House (not a modern annex but the original dwelling house) are smaller but equally charming. Each have views of a beautiful walled garden. All guests staying in the Yellow House use the reception rooms in the Main House.
